Description
Mountain Gear Lab (MtGL) Catenary cut A-tarp
This is the classic tarp that’s set up in the fixed A-frame structure and tapers in width to fit efficiently for sleepers. All sides of the tarp and its ridgeline are precisely cut in catenary curves, to properly achieve an easy and tight pitch and a favorable living space.
The tarp is less than 200g, weights similar to your cell phone, and when combined with an UL bug net, forms a sub-400g shelter system of full protection! The tarp can also be accompanied by a bivy to further bring down the weight and for FKT or skilled adventurers.
The tarp has an innovative tieout system:
* Double progressively-sized radial DCF bonded reinforcements
* The safest and a beautiful load transfer from the “folded over” webbing to a guyline
* The most efficient “minimally invasive sewing” technique
* In addition, a tarp made with DCF has the advantage of virtually no stretch for great wind shedding and does not sag when the temperature drops.
